Zum dritten Mal hat OneBeat den Bus voller Musiker gepackt und hat Kurs auf Potsdam aufgenommen. Das Sehsüchte Filmfestival zog wieder mal junge Filmschaffende aus aller Welt an und lud sie zum aktiven Dialog in die Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen nach Babelsberg ein. Auch wir waren mit dabei und ELEPHANT hat für uns in der Festival-Lounge live gespielt! Dafür noch mal ein Riesen Dankeschön! Danke auch für die Bilder von Sehsüchte-Fotografin Karo Krämer.
Was macht eigentlich weltweit der Film-Nachwuchs? Vom 23. bis 28. April 2013 geht Europas größtes und gleichzeitig sicherlich das charmanteste internationale Studentenfilmfestival Sehsüchteder Sache mal wieder nach! Zum 42. Mal ist das Filmfestival damit Forum für Ideen, neue Erzählweisen und Ästhetiken – vor allem aber Treffpunkt für junge Filmemacher und Cineasten. Neben Filmen gibt es jede Menge Workshops, Parties, Filmquiz, das berühmt-berüchtigte Filmemacherfußball-Tunier und natürlich einen Konzertabend von OneBeat mit Elephant. In guter alter Tradition wird das Festival vom Medienwissenschafts-Studierenden der HFF auf die Beine gestellt, da kann man schon mal den Weg nach Potsdam auf sich nehmen!

The Sehsüchte flame burns brightly again in Potsdam-Babelsberg from April 23 to 28, 2013. For the 42nd time, the Konrad Wolf University for Film and Television is organising the biggest student film festival in Europe. Students of the master’s programme in media studies, assisted by others from varied degree programmes, are showing films from the best young filmmakers at the university as well as on the grounds of Babelsberg Studios. Not only does the festival represent exciting and innovative works of young filmmakers from all over the world, it provides a unique atmosphere in the middle of Germany’s film centre—making Sehsüchte a significant festival in the cultural landscape.
Tomorrow, Marco, Christoph and Antti (Piano, Drums and Bass) from Elephant, are back to João Cocteau in Kienitzerstrasse 98. It’s their second gig after the winter break and since our great concert night at the Michelberger Hotel in November. Check some photos here, that was a memorable night. Tonight you should head over to Salon Remise close to Treptower Park to see the Anna Morley + Charrua playing live . They play a mix of “eclectic fusion of electro-acoustic vibes with a touch of ambience, all held together by fresh minimal grooves”. Sounds great! Alongside Anna and Charrua, Musgos are playing what they call “instrumental punk jazz”.. bearded man with guitars, another must see!
On friday the 23rd of November, we organized a concert night in the lobby of the Michelberger Hotel, with two beautiful concerts by Lavoisier and Elephant. Ma Tias was playing some of his favorite tunes after the concerts. Massive thanks to the Michelberger Hotel for making it happen and to everyone who came along! What a great night!
2013 is coming up and this was our last event for this year. We’re looking into further improving our project and are looking forward to lots more nice events for 2013. So stay tuned, you’ll hear from us!
