arrowSorry Gilberto or the beauty of simple things: Homecoming Show, 04.11. Neukölln

29.10.14 by Anna

arrowLavoisier News: A new song and a shiny website developed by OneBeat

29.08.12 by Lukas

OneBeat’s Patricia and Roberto from the portuguese duo Lavoisier collect lost popular portuguese folk songs and bring them back to live. Both their own originals and interpretations of lost songs are played with utmost dedication. The effort pays off: the couple  just spent almost 1 month touring for concerts in Portugal. They have been booked to play for the singer-songwriter festival Klub Geyser in Denmark, have several shows coming up and already played more gigs in the first half of 2012, then in the whole of 2011.
Earlier this summer we met up to talk about a new website their urgently needed, to present their event photos and announce news and concerts. We couldn’t do it fast, but with some time and dedication we managed to build a nice website for the duo. The first website built by OneBeat for our artists, we proudly present:

www.whoislavoisier.com

We also asked them for a new song so we uploaded a brand new Lavoisier track on our soundcloud: Canta Amigo Canta (engl. Sing Friend Sing).
Be sure to follow Lavoisier on facebook and soundcloud.

arrowOneBeat concerts at sehsüchte film festival with LAVOISIER & SORRY GILBERTO live, 27.04, 21h30

24.04.12 by Lukas

Lavoisier & Sorry Gilberto LIVE

Like last year we’ll be back in Potsdam for  sehsüchte, Europe’s largest international student film festival. It’s entirely organized by students of the HFF, and dedicated to the international young generation of filmmakers. Be sure to check their website: http://2012.sehsuechte.de.

Start: 21h30 at the HFF Konrad Wolf
Marlene-Dietrich-Allee 11, 14482 Potsdam
Facebook RSVP

We’re very happy to present 2 great bands in the sehsüchte lounge:

SORRY GILBERTO (indie-folk & pop) – http://www.sorrygilberto.com
„On the blue bus baby will be sunshine instead of weather“ – they say in one of their songs. Sorry Gilberto are Anne von Keller und Jakob Dobers who live in Berlin. They play a couple of instruments, which are much less than themselves. Their folk-sound is influenced by Jonathan Richman and the Go-Betweens. And of course they miss the Moldy Peaches and Brokof and surely they would love to see Leonard Cohen live in concert.

LAVOISIER (portuguese folk & bossa nova) –http://www.onebe.at/en/artists/lavoisier
Old songs with a new spirit – Lavoisier are Patricia and Roberto from Portugal, influenced by each other and the whole world of sensations that music can bring along. With the spirit that was left by the political movement of the “Tropicalistas”, they create a mix of pop, bossa nova and brazilian and portuguese folk music. Lavoisier tries to see the music not only as a matter of individuality, but as a full sense of awareness and presence in a world that we’re living in right now, and that already existed before.

It’s a long way out to Potsdam but it will be worth it..

arrowWer hat Angst vor: EvilMrSod!

25.02.11 by Lukas

Devil’s Right Hand by evilmrsod

arrowNew Artist: OneBeat proudly welcomes Lavoisier

07.02.11 by Lukas

OneBeat is proud to welcome a new band we want to support.
Lavoisier are Patrícia and Roberto, a musical couple originally from Portugal who have been living and playing in Berlin. Until now i attended 3 concerts in small bars in Neukölln and Kreuzberg, and there´s a very special vibe and feel to the way they play and present their music. Among their original songs, portuguese and brazilian cover versions, they also sing wonderful songs from Nina Simone or Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weil´s “Alabama Song”. We present 2 of their songs for now and there´s more you can listen to on their myspace page, though this small selection of their songs doesn’t do them complete justice. It´s a live thing!
They relate to something most of you haven´t heard of.. to ‘Tropicalismo’ and ‘Antropofagia’. It is the way of reproducing music that represented the Brazilian modernist movement in the 1960’s – Tropicalismo – headed by Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil. Read more about it on their artist page.

Stay tuned for more songs and events dates from Laviosier. Welcome aboard Lavoisier!
