Soon in Berlin and not to be missed: The Transmediale 11!
With this year’s slogan RESPONSE:ABILITY transmediale.11 takes place at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (House of World Cultures) in Berlin from 1-6 February 2011 presenting a dynamic programme of cutting-edge artworks, breathtaking live performances and leading artists, thinkers and activists from around the world. This year’s performance programme hovers at the interface between the real world and the media sphere, between liveness and reproduction, between virtual and physical.
Plus there is a Sattelites Programme with lots of other venues with stuff going on.
There are lots of Workshops, Conferences, Artwork and much more to be seen. Check out the Programme here.
And not to forget, there is the Club Transmediale which is the musical side of things. The festival, repeatedly designated as “Germany’s prime meeting point for electronic and experimental music” and as “Berlin’s best pop festival”, puts down roots at new venues in Berlin Kreuzberg, namely the HAU theatre and a cluster of spaces around the “Kotti” square – Festsaal Kreuzberg, West Germany, Monarch, Kotti-Shop and Paloma Bar – where a Berlin stronghold for daring, independent music and art has developed. High profile club nights at Maria am Ostbahnhof and Berghain are planned too, as well as a concert series reviving chamber music at the .HBC and an exhibition at the Kunstquartier Bethanien.
My personal favourites definitely are:
What a weekend! More details about the night programme here.
